Product badges are labels displayed on product cards and product pages to highlight important product information, such as discounts, availability, pre-orders, or custom product attributes.

Use the Product badges settings to customize the badge type, colors, and display options.

Sale

The Sale badge is displayed when a product is available at a discounted price.

Type

Choose how the discount is displayed on the badge:

• Amount: Displays the discount as a monetary amount.
• Percentage: Displays the discount as a percentage.

For example:

• Amount: Save $20
• Percentage: Save 20%

Sold out

The Sold out badge is displayed when a product is unavailable because all of its variants are sold out.

Pre-order

The Pre-order badge can be used to indicate products that are available for pre-order.

Custom

The Custom badge allows you to display your own badge text using a Shopify metafield.

Set up the Custom badge

To use a custom badge, create the following metafield in Shopify admin:

• Name: Badge
• Namespace and key: custom.badge
• Type: Single line text

Then add the desired badge text to the product.

For example:

custom.badge: New Arrival

The badge will then display New Arrival on the product.

The custom badge supports both product and variant metafields, allowing you to display different badges at either the product or variant level.
