Color swatches allow customers to visually select product color variants using color swatches instead of standard variant selectors.

Unique supports both Shopify native color swatches and custom color values.

Type

Choose how color swatches are managed:

• Shopify: Uses Shopify’s native color swatches based on category metafields.
• Custom: Allows you to define color option names and manually assign colors using HEX values.

Shopify

Enable Shopify native color swatches by using category metafields to your products in Shopify admin. Learn more

Custom

When Custom is selected, you can define which product options should be treated as colors and specify their corresponding color values.

Color option names

Enter the names of your product options that represent colors.

Separate multiple names with a comma.

Example:

Color,Colour

This allows the theme to recognize both Color and Colour as color options.

Custom color values

Define the color and its corresponding HEX value.

Enter one color per line using the following format:

Name: #HEX

Example:

Black: #000000
Beige: #f5f5dc
Sky Blue: #87ceeb

The theme will use these values to display the corresponding colors as swatches.
